Publication Ethics

Marsidiapari: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The ethical guidelines in this journal refer to the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

These ethical standards apply to editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher.

1. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Making fair and unbiased publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope.
  2. Ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated through a fair peer-review process.
  3. Maintaining confidentiality of all manuscripts and not using any unpublished material for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
  4. Avoiding conflicts of interest; editors must decline to handle manuscripts in which they have competing interests (personal, financial, or institutional).

  2. Treat the manuscript as a confidential document and not share or discuss it with others without permission from the editor.
  3. Provide objective, constructive, and clear comments supported by reasonable arguments.
  4. Identify relevant published work that has not been cited, and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap with other published papers.
  5. Declare any conflict of interest (e.g., competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions) and decline the review if such conflict exists.

3. Duties of Authors

Authors are responsible for:

  1. Ensuring that the manuscript is an original work, not plagiarized, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  2. Presenting accurate data and results; fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited.
  3. Properly citing all sources that have influenced the research or community service activities.
  4. Clearly acknowledging funding sources, institutional support, and any significant contribution from individuals or organizations.
  5. Listing as authors only those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, implementation, or interpretation of the work; others should be acknowledged appropriately.
  6. Promptly notifying the editor and cooperating in correcting the manuscript (through correction or retraction) if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication.
